Ace the Showcase
Partnering with Business Career Services (BCS) the Ace the Showcase is created to help members prepare for the recruitment process at Career Showcase. Ace the Showcase is held twice a year, before the UF Career Showcase every semester. The event is structured to bring awareness to all of the obstacles and potential pitfalls that students make while navigating one of the largest career fairs in the southeast. These pitfalls can make or break recruiting opportunities for the entire semester, so getting it right the first time in imperative. We lay out five focus areas: professional etiquette, company research, professional dress, layout of the showcase, and talking with recruiters.
The Mock Mixer is a bi-annual event (Spring and Fall) that is used to prepare our students for the ISOM/AIS Company Mixer the week of Career Showcase. This event equips our members with the necessary skills and etiquette to be successful in all phases of recruiter interaction while maintaining the ISOM/AIS brand, as well as their own. The event is set up with the same number of mock recruiters as actual companies that attended the ISOM/AIS, so members are able to get realistic practice. This practice run promotes confidence in members as they feel more familiar with the rules of engagement and best practices for long term recruiting success.
Ace the Internship: Member Intern Panel
Ace the Internship is designed for members who are preparing to take on their summer internships with various companies. The layout is a panel discussion that featured members who had previously held summer internships. Frequently asked questions are created prior to the event to facilitate discussion between the panel and members, although members are also encouraged to ask questions. The event aims to help members achieve success during their summer internships, which often lead to full-time offers.
